In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, when Danish Ali stood on a BSP ticket from Amroha in UP, not very far from his native Hapur, he said it was with the consent of the JD(S) leadership. Despite it being his first electoral contest, and the BJP’s massive win from the state, Ali had won big from Amroha – a constituency dominated by Muslims, and housing a substantial number of Dalits. He had secured about 51% of the votes, defeating sitting BJP MP Kunwar Singh Tanwar by a margin of over 63,000.

Danish Ali
He was a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party from 2019 to 2023. On December 9, 2023, he was suspended from the party for not following party protocols, and his actions were deemed to be anti-party activity.
Earlier, He came into the headlines when BJP MP Ramesh Bhiduri made Islamophobic slurs towards him in the Parliament House. He said he will resign from his seat if no actions are taken against the BJP MP. However, no actions were taken as Bhiduri got off with just an apology.
He began his political career with the secular Janata Dal and later rose to the position of general secretary within the organisation. He went on to join the Bahujan Samaj Party on March 16, 2019. A week later, the Bahujan Samaj Party declared that he would contest from the Amroha constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He defeated Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Kanwar Singh Tanwar to secure his Lok Sabha seat.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he contested from the same seat on Congress's ticket but was unsuccessful in retaining his seat.

Kunwar Danish Ali (born 10 April 1975) is an Indian politician and a former Member of parliament, Lok Sabha for Amroha, Uttar Pradesh.
Early life
Ali was born in the Muslim family of Kunwar Jafar Ali and Nafees Jafar on 10 April 1975 in Hapur.[2][3] He graduated from Jamia Millia Islamia University in New Delhi.[1] On 15 January 2005, Ali married Zubia Danish, with whom he has a son and two daughters.[2]
Political career
Ali started his political career with Janata Dal (Secular) and went on to become the general secretary of the party. On 16 March 2019, he joined Bahujan Samaj Party with the consent of Janata Dal (Secular) leader and Karnataka chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.[4] Six days later, Bahujan Samaj Party announced that Ali would contest the upcoming 2019 Indian general election from Amroha constituency.[5] On 23 May, he was elected to the Lok Sabha after defeating Kanwar Singh Tanwar of the Bharatiya Janata Party, his nearest rival by a margin of nea
