As the lights shimmered during the 90th anniversary celebration of Bulgarian National Radio (BNR), a wave of emotions washed over me. For me, this was more than a celebration of an institutional milestone - it was a deeply personal journey, filled with memories of my childhood, my family, and the foundation of my cultural identity.
My mother - Yordanka Ferdinandova Koleva - devoted her entire career to BNR, from her student days to retirement. For nearly three decades, she was an integral part of its history. As the senior engineer, she designed studios, supervised the installation of new stereo sound equipment, and worked tirelessly as a sound engineer. Her passion and dedication to this institution were unmatched. She not only grew with BNR but also contributed to its evolution, aligning its progress with the people it served - and with our family.

Bogdana Karadocheva
Bogdana Karadocheva is one of the most loved and famous Bulgarian singers. Born in Sofia into a family of intellectuals, she was raised by a French governess.
Her musical career began when she was 14 years old. In 1969, she became the first Bulgarian performer to receive the Grand Prize in the International Golden Orpheus Competition, and the chairman of the jury, Bruno Coquatrix, also presented her with the Prize of the Association of French Musical Theatres. In the 1970s, she sang with world stars such as K. Frances, Adamo, Gilbert Bécaud, Cliff Richard, Charles Aznavour, Josephine Baker. She also participated in Emil Dimitrov's concert at the European theatre in Paris (1972). Bogdana has released several records with the companies "Pathe Marconi" and "Philips" and dozens with "Balkanton".
