I recently discovered one of my new favorites when it comes to resources to include in our homeschool. I’m talking about Heroes of History biographies by YWAM Publishing. My daughter and I cannot wait to read more and introduce the books to her brother, too.
As part of the Homeschool Review Crew, I was able to choose either a Christian Heroes: Then and Now book or one from Heroes of History. I let my daughter choose, and she chose a Heroes of History book on Milton Hershey. She had just spent a week in writing class reading about Milton Hershey and wanted to read more about him. The timing couldn’t have been better.
Heroes of History- The Books
The Heroes of History is a series of 29 biographies for children 10+. There is a quite a variety of influential men and women to choose from. It is an impressive list.
Each historical biography can be read on its own

Favorite Living History Homeschool Curriculum
After 10 years of homeschooling, these are our favorite living history homeschool curriculum that incorporates some favorite Charlotte Mason practices.
I can thank Charlotte Mason for a lot of things, but if I had to pick just one, I would thank her for being instrumental in changing my view of studying history.
My memories of learning about history is summed up in one word. BORING. Anyone else? Miss Mason taught me that I did not have to rely on a thick textbook. Instead, we could walk alongside characters living in that time period. We could see what they see, and experience what they lived.
In my early years of dabbling in the Charlotte Mason style of education, I used plenty of living history curriculum out there. Here, I want to share our favorites over the years!
Like I mentioned, history was a subject that I labeled as boring
