ACES ARE BORN: THE EYES HAVE IT!
4th Fighter Wing, 335th Squadron, Kimpo AB, Korea: August 1951 - April 1952
I left my heart in San Francisco, Martha that is, for the 4th Fighter Wing. We sailed from the Port of Oakland and I had my only ocean cruise on the Aiken Victory, a typically slow victory ship of WW II vintage. The trip was boring, but food onboard was plentiful and good, so compared to the seasick Army troops in the hold, we had it fine. We arrived in port at Yokohama Japan.

Robert Eugene Smith
Robert Eugene “Bob” Smith, 72, Russiaville, passed away at 5:45 pm Friday, October 4, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family and special friend Bret Schreckenghaust. He was born October 29, 1946, in Russiaville, the son of the late Everett L. & Gracie E. (Norton) Smith. On November 8, 1968, he married Deborah J. Davis who survives.
Bob was a 1964 graduate of Western High School. He served with the United States Army as a PFC, during the Vietnam War, where he earned the Purple Heart. Bob retired in 1994 from Chrysler Corp after 30 years of service as a machine operator and job setter. He was a lifelong resident of Russiaville and a member of Faith Church of Christ in Burlington, and UAW Local #685. Bob enjoyed hunting, and fishing especially in Canada.
Along with his wife Deborah, Bob is survived by his daughters, Holly (Jade) Pasquale, and Connie (David) Jackson; grandchildren, Nolan Johnson, Jonah Johnson, Derrick Pasquale, Abigail Pasquale, Justin Bargerhuff, Josh Bargerhuff, Kelsey Jackson, Alex Jackson, D
