Kayla Ewell is a young pin-up-type actress whose work has ranged from the thoughtfully introspective comedy series "Freaks and Geeks" to the more conspicuously trendy "The Vampire Diaries" over the course of her career. At 15, she made her television debut on two obscure TV series before being cast as Maureen Sampson on a Judd Apatow-directed episode of the beloved "Freaks and Geeks," the prematurely canceled NBC show that took an intelligent and nuanced eye to the realities of high school life. At age 18, Ewell joined a very different kind of world, that of the soap "The Bold and the Beautiful," playing the aspiring fashion designer Caitlin Ramirez, appearing for 132 episodes in just a year-and-a-half. Early life
Ewell was born in Long Beach, California,[2] and raised in Seal Beach.[3] She studied dance, singing, and acting at the Orange County Song & Dance Company in Westminster, California.[3] Ewell was spotted by a talent agent while taking an acting class around 1999, and asked to go on an audition.[4]
