GRETA MATASSA is one of the most talented singers working in jazz today.

She has been voted “Northwest Vocalist of the Year” by Earshot Jazz seven times in 15 years! She was voted again, Vocalist of the Year in 2014 and honored with a lifetime achievment award and inducted into the Earshot Jazz Hall of Fame in 2014.

Greta has been a mainstay on Seattle’s Jazz stages for many years and with her recent successful dates at New York’s Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center, tours of Russia, Singapore and Hawaii, Japan and New Orleans, Greta’s sound is now reaching new audiences. Greta has released eight CD’s on the respected jazz label Origin Records and a DVD live concert with guitarist Mimi Fox. Her latest

Greta Matassa is an American jazz vocalist who has been a mainstay on Seattle's jazz stages for many years. With her recent tours of Russia, Singapore, Hawaii, and Japan, Greta's sound is now reaching new audiences. Greta has released seven CD's with jazz label Origin Records and a DVD live concert with guitarist Mimi Fox.

In 2009, Greta was voted "Northwest Vocalist of the Year" by Earshot Jazz. This marks the sixth time she has received this award in 15 years. Her latest release I Wanna Be Loved (Resonance Records) remained on the national jazz charts for radio airplay for three months. This new release features arrangements by Tamir Hendelman.

In the Pacific Northwest, where she built her career, Greta Matassa wins wide acclaim; 7 times, the readers of Earshot, the Seattle jazz magazine, have voted her the best jazz vocalist in the Northwest. She was inducted into the Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame in 2014. Jim Wilke, the Seattle jazz maven and host of the syndicated "Jazz After Hours" radio program, praises her versatility. "She has a fearlessness in approaching material,” Wilke says, "that makes her like an instrumentalist in a jam session.” Bassist and producer John Clayton says “One of the best jazz singers we have to boast about these days.”

Her 40 year career has been a whirlwind of exciting opportunities and experiences. Over the last 20 years she became established as one of the greatest jazz singers of her time.
