Geoffrey Royce Rojas (born May 11, 1989 on the Bronx) known by his stage namePrince Royce is a Dominican-Americanbachata singer. [1] He started his career when he signed on with Top Stop Music label. His debut album, Prince Royce, was recorded in 2009 and released in 2010. The album was produced by Sergio George the manager of Top Stop Music. [2] The album became a success peaking at #1 on the BillboardTropical Albums chart. [3] The lead single from the album, "Stand by Me" is a cover of a song which was originally composed and performed by Ben E. King. The single reached #1 on the Latin Tropical Airplay chart and #8 on the Top Latin Songs chart. [4] It was announced on September 8, 2010, that his album would become a nominee for a Latin Grammy Award for "Best Contemporary Tropical Album". [5]

Geoffrey Royce Rojas (born May 11, 1989), known professionally as Prince Royce, is an American singer. At an early age, Royce took an interest in music, and in his teenage years began experimenting with music and writing poetry. By age nineteen, Royce met Andrés Hidalgo, who became his manager. Hidalgo later introduced Royce to record producer Sergio George, who immediately signed him to his label after hearing three of his demos.

In March 2010, Royce released his eponymous debut studio album, which generated two commercially successful singles, "Stand by Me" and "Corazón Sin Cara". In the United States, both songs reached number-one on the BillboardTropical Songs chart, while "Corazón Sin Cara" reached number-one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. The album itself reached number-one on the US Billboard Top Latin Albums and Tropical Albums charts. Geoffrey Royce Rojas was born on May 11, 1998, in the Bronx, one of the five boroughs of New York City. His parents were both from the Dominican Republic, which explains to a large extent the affinity Prince Royce developed towards Bachata music from a very early age.
